It’s skyline keeps you wide-eyed for minutes or in my case for days. It’s streets arrest your soul. It’s people exude pride knowing that they live in the best city in the world. And for some reason or another Chicago has always had a special place in my heart. Maybe it’s because my grandparents were born there, and deep within my core it’s part of who I am. Or maybe it’s because as a child I spent my summers chasing lightening bugs there. But one thing is for sure; it’s greatness has me seduced.
I wouldn’t describe myself as a city girl, but I have the utmost respect for cities and Chicago is at the top of my list. With an abyss of knowledge, incessant opportunities and a history as long as the refrigerated rail cars that pass through it, Chicago dominates growth like a bull controls a herd. Trade, art, innovation and the pursuit of the American dream have kept the city flourishing and the momentum is limitless. Sometimes it’s difficult to imagine the small trading post it once was, but I am sure its early residents never anticipated that Chicago would be the majestic place it is today.
