Jim and Franny’s Pre-Wedding Shoot ~ Denver, Colorado and Red Rocks

A little while ago I had the privilege of photographing my brother-in-law’s wedding celebration in Denver, Colorado. Because friends, family and good food, beer and wine were the must-haves, they celebrated the event with a casual Hawaiian theme. The wedding was on a Sunday so I suggested that they take some pictures the Saturday before the celebration.

We had a bit of a rocky start–pun intended–by getting kicked out of the chapel grounds at Red Rocks, but I took all the images I needed before we got the boot. The gate keeper let us in so we took advantage of it. Plus the light was beaming and I just couldn’t let it go.

After we were removed from the chapel grounds the light became spotty and the chilly wind entered the afternoon. Poor Franny had to brave the cold between locations, but she did a marvelous job at keeping her shivering down to a minimum. When the day was done, Jim and Franny walked away knowing they could remember their weekend celebration with some special moments. And since we all worked up an appetite, we grubbed on good old American bar food at My Brother’s Bar in downtown Denver. It was a brilliant day!
